Entrepreneurship is an excellent real-world context for teaching ESL/ABE/IET skills and HSE core academic subjects (English, math, social studies, science) while simultaneously developing workforce-based skills and unleashing individual potential to pursue unique interests, hobbies, and passions in the new Innovation and Gig Economy. Using experiential and adult learning theories plus a field-tested curriculum, Institute participants simultaneously learn basic entrepreneurship content and instructional best practices by reviewing 200+ classroom-ready resources and completing assignments that they can turn around and use with their adult learners with little to no further preparation. Topics include marketing, operations, management, start-up costs, funding sources, financial statements, business structures, and elevator pitches. Industry-endorsed U.S. Entrepreneurship Certification Examination available in April 2023.
