National Apprenticeship Week

NATIONAL APPRENTICESHIP WEEK HOME  |  SCHEDULE OF EVENTS   |  RESOURCES  |  SOCIAL MEDIA

National Apprenticeship Week (NAW) is a nationwide celebration where employers, adult education programs, industry associations, labor organizations, community-based organizations, workforce partners, and government leaders host events to showcase the successes and value of Registered Apprenticeship. Apprenticeships are instrumental in re-building our economy, advancing racial and gender equity, building a pipeline to good quality jobs, and supporting underserved communities.

This year’s theme – 10 Years of Engagement, Expansion, and Innovation – is in recognition of the fact that, since NAW’s inception, literally thousands of events have allowed countless individuals to learn about the life-changing impacts that the Registered Apprenticeship has had and continues to have for so many jobseekers and employers.

Join COABE, adult education’s leader on the Center of Excellence in Apprenticeship, as we explore preapprenticeships, registered apprenticeships, integrated education and training, and workforce programs that are truly impactful! All programming is free thanks to Essential Education’s generous partnership.

Welcome to Apprenticeship Week!

This first session kicks off as we celebrate National Apprenticeship Week with COABE. After the welcome we will highlight the impact and importance of apprenticeship programs nationally and how in adult education, we can empower individuals and strengthen the workforce. We’ll explore the role of apprenticeships in bridging skills gaps, fostering economic mobility, and supporting community development.

In this session, we will review the key partners and provide ways that you can start the process of creating an apprenticeship, learn how to engage with employers and how to find in-demand industry trends. We will emphasize integrating supportive services and how adult education plays a part in wrap-around service delivery. Finally, we will view how one state created a pilot to help adult education programs begin the process of creating apprenticeship programs.
