NASDAE Liaison

Sheryl Hart has been in the field of adult education for over thirty years as a teacher, a local program director and at the state office. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Design from California State University, Long Beach and a Master of Education degree in Educational Technology from Arizona State University. She worked as a product designer in California for several years before discovering adult education in 1988. Sheryl joined the Arizona Department of Education, Adult Education Services Division in February 2002 and became the Educational Technology Director. In this role, Sheryl focused on the integration of educational technology in adult education classrooms throughout Arizona and oversaw the design and implementation of Arizona’s statewide adult education distance and blended learning system. In July 2014, Sheryl was promoted to State Director of Adult Education in Arizona and she is responsible for navigating the Arizona Adult Education System through the opportunities and challenges under the implementation of the Workforce Innovation & Opportunity Act. In addition to being Arizona’s State Director, Sheryl is the current Chair of the National Association of State Directors of Adult Education (NASDAE).
