Juli DeNisco has dedicated 25 years to the Crowder College Adult Education and Literacy (AEL) program, initially starting as an AEL Instructor for 13 years before becoming the AEL Director. Her role involves providing AEL, English Language Learning (ELL), and Integrated Education and Training (IET) classes.
Covering six counties in Southwest Missouri, Mrs. DeNisco’s effective leadership significantly contributes to the success of the Crowder College AEL program. She also serves on the Student Affairs Leadership Team. Her commitment to ongoing learning is reflected in her Master of Science in Adult, Occupational, and Continuing Education from Kansas State University.
Beyond Crowder College, Mrs. DeNisco actively participates in the Missouri Association of Adult, Continuing, and Community Education (MAACCE). Her diverse involvement includes roles such as AEL Teacher Chair, Secretary, and her current position as the Liaison to the Coalition on Adult Basic Education (COABE). Additionally, she serves as the COABE Liaison for the Missouri Adult Education and Literacy Administrator Association (MAELAA), the Workforce Investment Board of Southwest Missouri, and the Refugee and Immigrant Services and Education (RAISE) Board.
A committed advocate for underserved rural and diverse populations, Mrs. DeNisco has been a member of COABE since 2008. Her dedication is evident in her dynamic engagement as a presenter and advocate for Adult Education during Capitol Hill Days in Washington, D.C. She has further demonstrated her commitment by completing the inaugural Ambassador Training Program, solidifying her role as a champion for COABE initiatives. Mrs. DeNisco humbly believes in the collective strength of the AEL field within COABE, emphasizing the transformative power of unity in advancing adult education.
