Yvottonne Reneé Rivers (Renee’) is the program coordinator for Dorchester County Adult Education. In addition to her day to day programmatic responsibilities, she currently serves as a member of the SCAACE (SC Adult and Community Education) Board; a Digital Navigator for Dorchester County; the Trident Workforce Development Board’s Youth Advisory Committee; Integrated Business Service Team for the Trident Workforce Development Region; Chairperson for Dorchester County Career and Technology Center’s School Improvement Council; and Business / Industry Partner Liaison for Dorchester County Adult Education, just to name a few. Renee’ served as South Carolina’s State Advocate for Adult Education (2 years) and was the recipient of the 2022 National Outstanding Excellence in Advocacy Award. As an Adult Education advocate, Renee’ continues to meet with legislators on the national, state, and local levels advocating for much needed resources and funding for Adult Education in South Carolina and the nation.
Renee’ is a resident of St. George, South Carolina. She is married to Frank Rivers, Jr. and they have three children: Cherrye’, Nikole, and Frank, III. Reneé is very active in her community and church (Bethel AME, St. George). She is the leader of Girl Scout Troop 590 and GSUSA lifetime member, and a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
