COABE Beyond Borders Partnership of Hope
More than half of Haiti's adult population is illiterate and caught in a cycle of poverty. The recent earthquake brought even more suffering to the impoverished nation of Haiti.
Beyond Borders provides communities with assistance in setting up literacy centers for adults and older children. Through these centers, thousands of Haitians have learned to read, write and develop other skills needed to break the bonds of poverty. Beyond Borders supports these literacy centers by providing funding for classroom materials, teacher training and salaries, supervision, and logistical support.
